Mission Statement

The Mission of the Community Development Department is to build a stronger community in concert with local values, through civic participation and visionary planning, and to promote and enhance the quality of life for residents, businesses and property owners by carrying out progressive planning, economic development, redevelopment and housing programs, which encourage the highest quality development possible.

Background

The Community Development Department is made up of three divisions Planning, Redevelopment, and Economic Development. All three of these divisions work in concert to implement the city's general plan; by giving new development and redevelopment efforts and potential economic development to safeguard the community's quality of life.
